DeMarcus Omar Ware, born on July 31, 1982, was an American professional football linebacker who played 12 seasons in the National Football League. He played college football for the Troy State Trojans as a defensive end and earned Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2004. Ware was chosen in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys, where he played as an outside linebacker. During his nine seasons with the Cowboys, he led the league in sacks on two occasions and received seven consecutive Pro Bowl selections. He spent his final three seasons with the Denver Broncos, earning a total of nine Pro Bowl nods and winning Super Bowl 50 with the team. As a senior in high school, Ware played both linebacker and wide receiver, earning team MVP honors at both positions and receiving Top Leadership recognition. He accepted a scholarship from Troy University, where he was a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection for the Troy Trojans football team.
