Deebo Samuel Biography

Tyshun Raequan Deebo Samuel Sr. was born on January 15, 1996, and has played as a professional football wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. He played college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft. Samuel earned first-team All-Pro honors while playing for the 49ers in 2021 and later competed in the 2025 season with the Washington Commanders after a trade. He has recorded 166 receptions for 2,751 yards and 36 touchdowns, and has rushed 133 times for 898 yards and 13 touchdowns. As a high school senior, Samuel was rated as a three-star recruit in the 2014 college football recruiting class. He concluded a season with 12 receptions totaling 161 yards. On November 5, 2017, Samuel announced he would return for his senior year of college football.
