David Justice Biography

David Christopher Justice, born on April 14, 1966, played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball as an outfielder and designated hitter. He competed for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, and Oakland Athletics from 1989 to 2002. The Atlanta Braves drafted Justice in the fourth round with the 94th overall pick in 1985. He finished the season with 28 home runs, contributing to his National League Rookie of the Year Award. After a slight decline in 1992, Justice posted a solid performance in 1993. He was batting .313 with a .427 on-base percentage and .531 slugging average when play ended in 1994. Just before the 1997 season began, the Braves traded Justice and Marquis Grissom to the Cleveland Indians for Kenny Lofton and Alan Embree.
