David Freese was born on April 28, 1983, and played as a professional baseball third baseman in Major League Baseball. He made his MLB debut with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2009 and played a major role in the 2011 postseason, batting .545 with 12 hits during the NLCS. Freese was awarded the Babe Ruth Award as the MVP of the 2011 MLB postseason. He chose not to accept a college baseball scholarship from the University of Missouri after high school. Freese was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the ninth round of the 2006 MLB draft. The St. Louis Cardinals acquired him prior to the 2008 season. The Pittsburgh Pirates traded him to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2018, and he retired following the 2019 season.
