Dave Robinson Biography

Richard David Robinson, born on May 3, 1941, was an American professional football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League. Dave Robinson played collegiate football at Penn State and later competed in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers and Washington Redskins. Robinson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997 and into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013. Robinson graduated from Moorestown High School in 1959 after playing on three unbeaten NJSIAA championship teams in football and basketball. Robinson earned the nickname Lefty due to being a left-footed kicker. From 1960 to 1962, he played end on both offense and defense at Penn State University. In 1962, he received All-America status, was named College Player of the Year by the Newark Athletic Club, and earned College Lineman of the Year honors from the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association.
