Darryn Peterson Biography

Darryn Wayne Peterson, born on January 17, 2007, is an American basketball player who has played for the Utah Jazz in the National Basketball Association. He has competed in college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks. As a top-ranked player in the 2025 class, he was recognized as a consensus five-star recruit. Peterson was selected by the Utah Jazz with the second-overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft. His older brother, Darryl Peterson III, previously won multiple state football titles while at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron before playing at the University of Wisconsin. As a freshman, he averaged 26.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game, leading his team to a 16–8 record and a district title game appearance. On August 12, 2024, he announced his transfer to Prolific Prep in Napa, California for his senior season.
