Darren Daulton, nicknamed Dutch, was an American professional baseball catcher born on January 3, 1962, and passed away on August 6, 2017. Daulton earned his first All-Star selection in 1992, the same year he won the National League Silver Slugger Award. He captured the 1997 World Series title while playing for the Florida Marlins. In 1990, his first full season as a primary catcher, Daulton batted .268 with 57 RBIs, leading to a three-year contract worth $6.75 million. Daulton received his first All-Star honor, the Silver Slugger Award, and placed sixth in NL MVP voting during a standout season. Despite his team losing the World Series, he was named an All-Star again, drove in over 100 runs for the second straight year, and finished seventh in NL MVP voting. In 1995, he was named to his third All-Star team, though he played in only 98 games and finished with nine home runs.
