Dan Hampton Biography

Daniel Oliver Hampton, born on September 19, 1957, played as a defensive tackle in the National Football League for twelve seasons with the Chicago Bears. He was honored with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002. As a senior in college, Hampton recorded 98 tackles, including 18 for loss, and earned All-American recognition. In 1994, he was named to the University of Arkansas All-Century team. Hampton earned first or second team All-Pro honors in six separate seasons between 1980 and 1988. He matched his career high with 11½ sacks during the 1984 season. During the 1985 season, he earned a salary of $325,000.
