Curtis Edward Warner, born on March 18, 1961, was an American professional football player who played as a running back in the National Football League. Warner earned All-American honors twice while playing college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions before being chosen by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 1983 NFL draft. He was honored with induction into the College Football Hall of Fame on December 8, 2009, recognizing his collegiate achievements. During his first season in the NFL, Warner was awarded the AFC Offensive Player of the Year title. In 2010, Evan Royster surpassed Warner’s career rushing yards total, marking a shift in the record's progression. Warner received All-American recognition in both 1981 and 1982 during his time at Penn State. The following season, he sustained a torn ACL during the 1984 season opener against Cleveland and did not return to play for the remainder of that year.
