Curt Schilling Biography

Curtis Montague Schilling, born on November 14, 1966, is an American former Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher who has also served as a commentator for BlazeTV. He contributed to the Philadelphia Phillies’ World Series appearance in 1993 and secured titles with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2001 and the Boston Red Sox in 2004 and 2007, earning co-World Series MVP honors in 2001. Schilling concluded his career with a postseason record of 11 wins and 2 losses, achieving a .846 winning percentage that stands as a major-league record for pitchers with ten or more decisions. He played at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona, during 1985 before advancing to professional baseball. In his MLB debut on September 7, 1988, he started against the Red Sox at Memorial Stadium, allowing three runs over seven innings in a 4–3 victory. Schilling recorded both his first save and first win during the 1990 season. He was traded to the Houston Astros along with Steve Finley and Pete Harnisch in exchange for Glenn Davis on January 10, 1991, a move later labeled by Orioles fans as one of the worst in team history.
