Cortez Kennedy Biography

Cortez C. Kennedy played as a defensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks throughout his 11-season career in the National Football League. He was honored with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012 for his contributions to professional football. In 1992, Kennedy received the Defensive Player of the Year award despite his team’s 2–14 record that season. He played college football for the University of Miami’s Hurricanes before entering the NFL. Kennedy earned a Pro Bowl selection in 1991 during his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks. In 2006, he was recognized by the Seahawks with induction into their Ring of Honor. In 2007, SI.com named him the best athlete to wear the number 96 in the history of the NFL.
