Connor Shaw, born on September 19, 1991, is an American former professional football player who played as a quarterback in the National Football League. He played college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks, serving as the starting quarterback from 2011 to 2013. After missing his first pass in a game on September 22, 2012, Shaw completed 20 consecutive passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Missouri. Following a 31–17 victory over Clemson on December 1, 2013, Shaw held the best winning record as a starter in Gamecock history with a 27–5 mark, including a 17–0 record at home. On December 6, Shaw received an invitation to participate in the 2014 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. In his final college game on January 1, 2014, Shaw threw for 312 yards on 22 of 24 passing, threw three touchdowns, ran for a touchdown, and caught one touchdown in the Capital One Bowl. Shaw went undrafted in the 2014 NFL draft and later signed with the Cleveland Browns after the draft.
