Chuck Finley Biography

Charles Edward Finley, born on November 26, 1962, is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He has played in Major League Baseball from 1986 to 2002, primarily with the California Angels. Over a 17-year career, Finley achieved 200 wins, recorded 2,610 strikeouts, and maintained a 3.85 earned run average. The California Angels selected him again in the fourth overall pick of the secondary phase of the draft in January 1985. Finley began his professional career in 1985 with the minor league Salem Angels, a Class A Short Season team in the Northwest League. He made his Major League Baseball debut with the Angels on May 29, 1986, in a game against the Detroit Tigers. In 1987, Finley pitched in 35 games, including three starts, and posted a 2–7 record with a 4.67 ERA.
