Chuba Hubbard Biography

Chuba Robert-Shamar Hubbard, born on June 11, 1999, is a Canadian professional football running back who has played in the National Football League. He played college football for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, earning unanimous All-American honors and being recognized as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2019. Hubbard was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft. After redshirting in 2017, he appeared in 13 games during the 2018 season, recording 740 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Despite being eligible for the 2020 NFL draft, he chose to return for his redshirt junior year at Oklahoma State. In June 2020, he expressed intent to disengage from the football team and university due to a photo of his head coach wearing a T-shirt promoting a far-right news network. He made his NFL debut in Week 1 of the 2021 season, playing against the New York Jets.
