Christian McCaffrey Biography

Christian McCaffrey, born on June 7, 1996, is an American professional football running back who has played in the National Football League. He played college football at Stanford University before being selected by the Carolina Panthers with the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. During his sophomore year in 2015, McCaffrey earned the AP College Football Player of the Year award and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. He is one of only three players in NFL history to record 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, achieving this feat in 2019. McCaffrey was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2022 and was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2023 after leading the league in scrimmage yards and touchdowns. He also competed as a sprinter on Stanford’s track and field team during his college years. In the 2016 Rose Bowl, he became the first player to record over 100 rushing yards and over 100 receiving yards in a single Rose Bowl game.
