Chris Sale Biography

Christopher Allen Sale, born on March 30, 1989, is an American professional baseball pitcher who has played in Major League Baseball. He has previously played in MLB for the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox. A native of Lakeland, Florida, Sale played college baseball for Florida Gulf Coast University. Sale was an MLB All-Star for seven consecutive seasons from 2012 to 2018 and led the American League in strikeouts in 2015 and 2017. Sale was again named an All-Star in 2025 and 2026. After his high school graduation, Sale was chosen by the Colorado Rockies in the 21st round of the 2007 MLB draft but decided to enroll at Florida Gulf Coast University to continue his baseball career. During the 2010 season at FGCU, Sale posted an 11–0 win–loss record and a 2.01 ERA over 17 games.
