Chris Johnson Biography

Christopher Duan Johnson, born on September 23, 1985, is an American former professional football running back. As a senior at East Carolina University, he recorded 2,960 all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns. Selected by the Tennessee Titans in the 2008 NFL draft, he ran a 4.24-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. In 2009, he rushed for 2,006 yards, winning the NFL rushing title and surpassing 2,509 total yards from scrimmage. He earned the nickname CJ2K and was awarded the 2009 Offensive Player of the Year honor. Johnson retired after the 2017 season, having played his entire career with the Titans. Initially rated as a two-star recruit in 2004, he was not ranked among the top running back prospects in the nation.
