Chris Chelios, born January 25, 1962, is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. He won the Stanley Cup three times, including one with the Montreal Canadiens and two with the Detroit Red Wings. During the 2009–10 NHL season, he was the oldest active player in the league when he joined the Thrashers after playing for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL. On May 1, 2009, he participated in the playoffs for the 24th time, missing the postseason only once in his career. Chelios holds the record for most career postseason losses in professional sports, with 117. In 2017, he was recognized as one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history. He was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1981 NHL entry draft.
