Chris Boswell Biography

Christopher Lynn Boswell, born on March 16, 1991, is an American professional football placekicker who has played in the National Football League. He played college football at Rice University before being signed by the Houston Texans in 2014 as an undrafted free agent. After brief stints with the New York Giants, he joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2015 and has remained with the team since. Boswell has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice, earned first-team All-Pro honors, led the NFL in scoring in 2024, and holds the record for highest accuracy on field goal attempts of 50 yards or more. In the 2012 season, he led Conference USA in field goal attempts and tied for first in field goals made. He declared for the 2014 NFL draft in April of that year. Boswell made his NFL debut on October 12, successfully completing all three extra point attempts and making a 47-yard field goal in a win over the San Diego Chargers.
