Charles Robert Taylor, born September 28, 1941, played American professional football as a wide receiver for 13 seasons with the Washington Redskins in the NFL. After his college football career at Arizona State University, he was chosen by Washington in the first round of the 1964 NFL draft. Taylor contributed to five playoff appearances between 1971 and 1974, and again in 1976, culminating in a Super Bowl VII appearance following the 1972 season. He earned six All-Pro honors and eight Pro Bowl selections, and was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1984. Taylor played college football at Arizona State University in Tempe, where he served as a halfback and defensive back. Following his final season with the Sun Devils, he participated in the East-West Shrine Game, the Hula Bowl, and the All-American Bowl. During his three seasons at Arizona State, he accumulated 1,995 yards from scrimmage and averaged 5.7 yards per carry, while scoring 25 touchdowns.
