Charles Tillman Biography

Charles Anthony Tillman, nicknamed "Peanut," was an American professional football player who played as a cornerback in the National Football League. He played college football for the Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns and was chosen by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2003 NFL draft. During his time at Louisiana–Lafayette, Tillman earned recognition as a two-time All-District 8-5A and all-area team selection. He attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he played for the Ragin' Cajuns football team from 1999 to 2002. On September 7, 2003, Tillman made his professional regular season debut in the Chicago Bears' season-opener against the San Francisco 49ers, recording four solo tackles and forcing his first career fumble. On September 19, 2004, he achieved a season-high 11 combined tackles, including nine solo tackles, during a game against the Green Bay Packers. On October 30, 2005, he recorded seven combined tackles, six of them solo, deflected two passes, and returned an interception for a touchdown in a game against the Detroit Lions.
