Chad Greenway, born on January 12, 1983, played his entire professional football career as a linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League. He was selected by the Vikings in the first round of the 2006 NFL draft after playing college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Greenway grew up in Mount Vernon, South Dakota, where he earned All-state honors in football during his junior and senior years of high school. As a senior in high school, he received the Gatorade Football Player of the Year award, along with recognition from the Argus Leader and Sports Max. He played for the University of Iowa from 2002 to 2005, contributing to the Hawkeyes' defensive unit during his collegiate tenure. During the 2004 season, he was honored as Iowa's Special Teams Player of the Year, received the Hustle Team Award for defense, and was selected to the team's Leadership Council. In 2005, he was named to the preseason All-America team by The Sporting News and received honorable mention All-America recognition from NationalChamps.net.
