Cardale Jones, born on September 29, 1992, is an American former professional football player who played as a quarterback in the National Football League. He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes, winning a College Football Playoff national championship, and was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft. Jones was evaluated by Rivals.com as a three-star recruit during his high school career. He committed to Ohio State University in October 2011, selecting the program over other collegiate offers. In March 2014, head coach Urban Meyer noted Jones was making progress in the classroom, with Jones later referencing a B grade on a sociology exam. During his freshman season, after red-shirting in 2012, Jones saw limited action, recording 39 snaps, completing one pass, and rushing for 128 yards with a touchdown on 17 carries. Entering the 2014 season as a redshirt sophomore, Jones was ranked third on the Buckeyes' quarterback depth chart behind Braxton Miller and J. T. Barrett.
