Cam Ward Biography

Cameron Anthony Ward, born on May 25, 2002, is an American professional football quarterback who has played in the National Football League. He has competed at the collegiate level for the Incarnate Word Cardinals, Washington State Cougars, and Miami Hurricanes, earning multiple national awards during his tenure. Ward was selected as the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft by the Tennessee Titans. He committed to the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, one of only two institutions to extend a scholarship offer to him during that recruitment cycle. Several Football Bowl Subdivision teams expressed interest in Ward but did not extend offers, as they had already committed to recruiting higher-ranked quarterback prospects. He announced his transfer to Washington State on January 10, 2022, following the hiring of his former head coach from Incarnate Word, Eric Morris, as offensive coordinator. Ward enrolled during the second semester of his sophomore year and was named starting quarterback for the 2022 season after being selected during the Cougars' spring practices.
