Cam Newton Biography

Cameron Jerrell Newton, born on May 11, 1989, is an American former professional football quarterback who has played in the National Football League for 11 seasons, primarily with the Carolina Panthers. He holds the second-highest total of career quarterback rushing touchdowns and ranks third in career quarterback rushing yards. Before joining the NFL, Newton played college football at Auburn University, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 2010 and helped lead the team to victory in the 2011 BCS National Championship Game. In his first season in the NFL, Newton set the single-season record for quarterback rushing touchdowns and also established rookie records for quarterback passing and rushing yards, earning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. From 2013 to 2017, Newton led the Carolina Panthers to four playoff appearances and three division titles. He was released prior to his 10th season and subsequently played for the New England Patriots in 2020. Newton earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Auburn University in 2015.
