Caleb Williams, born on November 18, 2001, is an American professional football quarterback who has played for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League. After a season with the Oklahoma Sooners, he transferred to the University of Southern California and won the Heisman Trophy in 2022 by setting school records for passing yards and touchdowns in a single season. He was selected as the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears, establishing multiple franchise rookie passing records. As a junior in high school, he earned first-team All-Metropolitan honors from the Washington Post, recording 1,770 passing yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 838 yards and 18 touchdowns. His senior year of high school was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, preventing a final season of competition. He began his college career at Oklahoma as a backup to Spencer Rattler, later becoming the starting quarterback during the rivalry game against the Texas Longhorns in the sixth game of the 2021 season. In January 2022, he entered the transfer portal and officially transferred to the University of Southern California to play for the Trojans in February of that year.
