Benjamin Franklin 'Buck' Belue III, born December 12, 1959, is an American athlete who played both football and baseball at the University of Georgia from 1978 to 1981. He served as quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs during the 1980 season, leading the team to a 12–0 record and a national championship after defeating Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. A pivotal moment in the 1980 season was a 93-yard touchdown pass from Belue to wide receiver Lindsay Scott, which contributed to a win over Florida. This pass was one of the longest in Georgia football history, a record later surpassed by Aaron Murray’s 98-yard touchdown to Reggie Davis in 2013. Belue was selected as team captain for the 1981 Georgia Bulldogs football season. His performance in baseball at Georgia included a .356 career batting average, and he played three seasons in the Montreal Expos minor league system. He also competed as a quarterback for the Jacksonville Bulls in the United States Football League during the 1984 and 1985 seasons.
