Bryson DeChambeau Biography

Bryson James Aldrich DeChambeau, born September 16, 1993, is an American professional golfer who has competed on the LIV Golf League. He previously played on the PGA Tour and has secured two major championship victories, winning the U.S. Open in 2020 and 2024. As an amateur, he achieved the rare distinction of winning both the NCAA Division I championship and the U.S. Amateur in the same year. His older brother Garrett Wolford was a skilled baseball player during his youth. In June 2015, DeChambeau claimed the NCAA individual title as the first SMU Mustang to do so, finishing with a score of 280 (−8) and winning by one stroke. He made his PGA Tour debut as an amateur at the 2015 FedEx St. Jude Classic near Memphis, Tennessee, where he placed 45th. He was unable to defend his NCAA title in 2016 due to a postseason ban imposed on SMU by the NCAA over recruiting violations under a former head coach.
