Brock Purdy Biography

Brock Richard Purdy, born on December 27, 1999, is an American professional football quarterback who has played for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. He played college football for the Iowa State Cyclones and was selected by the 49ers in the 2022 NFL draft, becoming that year's Mr. Irrelevant. Purdy won all five regular-season games he started, contributing significantly to the 49ers securing a division title and an NFC Championship Game appearance. He continued as the 49ers' starting quarterback in 2023, leading them to a repeat division title and finishing first in multiple passing categories before reaching Super Bowl LVIII. Purdy set the franchise's single season passing yards record and earned his first Pro Bowl selection during his career. He began his varsity football career in 2015 as a sophomore for the newly opened Perry High School. Purdy compiled a 27–13 record during his high school career at Perry.
