Brett Keisel Biography

Brett Keisel, born on September 19, 1978, played as a defensive end for 13 seasons in the National Football League with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played college football at Brigham Young University, representing the BYU Cougars before entering the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Keisel in the seventh round with the 242nd overall pick during the 2002 NFL draft. Keisel earned his first Super Bowl victory during the 2005 season when the Steelers won Super Bowl XL by defeating the Seattle Seahawks 21–10. He secured his second Super Bowl title when the Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals 27–23 in a subsequent championship game. In 2010, Keisel recorded his first career interception and touchdown, returning a pass from Josh Freeman 79 yards for a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During the 2012 season, he registered 4.5 sacks and recovered a fumble while continuing his role as a key contributor on the Steelers' defensive line.
