Brett Hull Biography

Brett Andrew Hull, born on August 9, 1964, is a Canadian–American former ice hockey player and general manager who has served as executive vice president of the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League. Hull has played for the Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, and Phoenix Coyotes during his professional career from 1986 to 2005. In 2017, he was recognized as one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history. He played college hockey for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, where he recorded 52 goals during the 1985–86 season. Hull was awarded the Hart Memorial Trophy and the Lester B. Pearson Award in the same season as the league's most valuable player. Having dual citizenship in Canada and the United States, he chose to represent the United States internationally after being cut from Team Canada. As a youth, he competed in the 1977 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Winnipeg South Monarchs minor ice hockey team.
