Brandon Crawford Biography

Brandon Michael Crawford, born on January 21, 1987, is an American former professional baseball player who played as a shortstop. He competed in Major League Baseball for 14 seasons, spending all but one season with the San Francisco Giants. Crawford played college baseball at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he developed his skills before entering professional play. He holds the record for most games at shortstop in San Francisco Giants history and ranked second among active players in games played at that position at the end of 2022. After 13 seasons with the Giants, Crawford joined the St. Louis Cardinals in 2024 and concluded his career following one season with the team. He earned team MVP honors in 2006 and 2007 and was recognized as an All-Pac-10 Conference selection in 2007 during his collegiate career. The San Francisco Giants drafted Crawford in the fourth round of the 2008 MLB draft, selecting him 117th overall, and he signed with a $375,000 bonus.
