Brandi Denise Chastain, born on July 21, 1968, is a retired American soccer player who has won two FIFA Women's World Cup titles and two Olympic gold medals. She represented the United States national team in international competition from 1988 to 2004. Chastain was recognized as part of the USWNT All-Time Best XI in 2013. She attended Archbishop Mitty High School and contributed to her team’s three consecutive Central Coast Section championships. At the University of California, Berkeley, she played as a forward for the Golden Bears and recorded 15 goals during her freshman season. After transferring to Santa Clara University prior to the 1989 season, she helped the Broncos achieve two consecutive NCAA College Cup Final Four appearances in 1989 and 1990. During the regular season, she scored ten goals while playing for Santa Clara University.
