Bobby Hull Biography

Robert Marvin Hull, born on January 3, 1939, was a Canadian professional ice hockey player recognized as one of the greatest in the sport's history. His blond hair, skating speed, and ability to shoot the puck at high velocity contributed to the nickname 'the Golden Jet'. Hull played professionally from 1957 to 1980, competing in both the NHL and WHA with the Chicago Black Hawks, Winnipeg Jets, and Hartford Whalers. He won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player on two occasions and the Art Ross Trophy as the league's top point scorer three times. In 2017, Bobby Hull was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in the history of the league. His professional debut season saw him finish second in voting for the Calder Memorial Trophy, recognizing top rookie performance. On March 12, 1966, Hull became the first NHL player to score more than 50 goals in a single season, surpassing previous 50-goal marks.
