Robert Allen Griese, born on February 3, 1945, played professional football as a quarterback for 14 seasons with the Miami Dolphins in the AFL and NFL. He earned All-American recognition while playing college football for Purdue, and was chosen by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 1967 NFL/AFL draft with the fourth overall pick.
