Bo Jackson Biography

Vincent Edward Bo Jackson was born on November 30, 1962, and is an American former professional athlete in both football and baseball. He is the only professional athlete in history to have earned All-Star status in two major American sports. Jackson played college football as a running back and baseball as an outfielder for the Auburn Tigers, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1985. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996 and later into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame in 2024. During 1989 and 1990, Jackson became widely recognized through the Nike 'Bo Knows' advertising campaign featuring musician Bo Diddley. Jackson holds the NFL record for most runs of 90 or more yards from scrimmage, with two such runs. As a senior at McAdory High School, he rushed for 1,175 yards on 118 carries and scored 17 touchdowns.
