Bernhard Langer Biography

Bernhard Langer, born on 27 August 1957, is a German professional golfer who has competed on the global stage. He has been among the world's top golfers during the 1980s and 1990s and holds two Masters titles as major victories. In 1986, Langer became the first player to achieve the number one ranking in golf following the introduction of the Sony Ranking system. He is one of five golfers to have won professional events on all six continents where golf is played. The highlights of his career include his two major championship victories. His first major win came at the 1985 Masters Tournament, where he finished two strokes ahead of Seve Ballesteros, Raymond Floyd, and Curtis Strange. In the 1991 Ryder Cup, Langer missed a five-foot putt that would have tied the match and preserved the European team's trophy.
