Bernard King Biography

Bernard King, born on December 4, 1956, is an American former professional basketball player who played as a small forward in the National Basketball Association. He has competed in the NBA for 14 seasons, representing the New Jersey Nets, Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, and Washington Bullets. King has been selected as an NBA All-Star on four occasions, earned four All-NBA honors, and led the league in scoring during the 1984–85 season. He played college basketball for the University of Tennessee, where he established a strong collegiate record. After his collegiate career, the New York Nets drafted King with the seventh overall pick in the 1977 NBA draft, shortly before the team relocated to New Jersey and became the New Jersey Nets. King played for the Utah Jazz during the 1979–80 season, averaging 9.3 points per game across 19 games. The Jazz traded King to the Golden State Warriors prior to the 1980–81 season.
