Benjamin Roy Armstrong Jr., born on September 9, 1967, is an American professional basketball executive and former player who has served as assistant general manager for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. Armstrong secured three NBA championships during his tenure as a point guard with the Chicago Bulls. He concluded his collegiate career at the University of Iowa as the school’s all-time leader in assists with 517, a record that remains among the program’s most notable achievements. Selected in the first round of the 1989 NBA draft, the 6-foot-2-inch point guard contributed to the Chicago Bulls’ return to the Eastern Conference Finals after a 55-win regular season in 1990. In 1992, he averaged double-digit points while playing a reserve role behind starter John Paxson, supporting the Bulls’ 67-win campaign and second consecutive championship. He again finished third in scoring during the 1995 season, helping the Bulls reach the second round of the playoffs with a 47–35 record. Armstrong was chosen first overall in the 1995 NBA expansion draft by the Toronto Raptors but did not report to the team.
