Ayo Dosunmu was born on January 17, 2000, and is an American professional basketball player who has played in the National Basketball Association. He earned consensus first-team All-American honors during his junior season while playing college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini. As a freshman at Chicago's Westinghouse College Prep, he scored a season-high 40 points and helped lead the Warriors to a 2015 conference championship. In March 2018, he was selected among 26 high school seniors to participate in the Jordan Brand Classic, which took place on April 8 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. He became the third Illinois player to appear in the Jordan Classic, following Dee Brown in 2002 and Jalen Coleman-Lands in 2015. On October 19, 2017, he verbally committed to play college basketball for Illinois under head coach Brad Underwood. He made his college debut on November 8, 2018, recording 18 points on 8-of-15 shooting, along with six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
