Aryna Sabalenka Biography

Aryna Siarhiejeŭna Sabalenka, born on 5 May 1998, is a professional tennis player from Belarus. She has held the world No. 1 ranking in women's singles by the WTA and previously reached No. 1 in doubles. Sabalenka has secured 24 singles titles during her career, including four Grand Slam victories—two at the Australian Open and two at the US Open—as well as eleven WTA 1000 tournament wins. She gained recognition in 2017 when, alongside Aliaksandra Sasnovich, she guided the Belarus Fed Cup team to a final appearance despite both players being ranked below the top 75. After reaching the singles semifinals at two Grand Slam events in 2021, she achieved a world No. 2 ranking, though her performance in 2022 did not consistently reflect that level. In 2024, she successfully defended her Australian Open title and captured her third Grand Slam singles title at the US Open, concluding the year ranked as the top player in the world. She also received the Laureus World Sports Award for Sportswoman of the Year in 2026.
