Anthony Edwards Biography

Anthony Jermal Edwards, born on August 5, 2001, is an American professional basketball player who has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the National Basketball Association. As a shooting guard, Edwards played college basketball for the Georgia Bulldogs before being chosen first overall in the 2020 NBA draft by the Timberwolves. He has been named an NBA All-Star four times, earned All-NBA Second Team honors twice, and won a gold medal representing the United States in the 2024 Olympic Games. Edwards completed his high school education at Holy Spirit Preparatory School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was recognized as a top recruit in the 2019 class. He began focusing on basketball after observing his brothers play, finding the sport more enjoyable than other activities. His performance with the Atlanta Xpress 15-under AAU team led to a four-star recruit rating from Rivals in 2016. On November 5, 2019, Edwards debuted for the Georgia Bulldogs, recording 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals in a victory over Western Carolina.
