Anna Kournikova Biography

Anna Kournikova, born on 7 June 1981, is a Russian model and television personality who has also competed as a professional tennis player. Her global recognition stemmed from her distinctive appearance and widespread fame during her tennis career. She achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 8 in the world during the year 2000. Partnering with Martina Hingis, she captured Grand Slam titles in Australia in 1999 and 2002, and won the WTA Championships in 1999 and 2000. In February and March 1996, she claimed two ITF-level titles in Midland, Michigan, and Rockford, Illinois. She made history at Wimbledon by reaching the semi-finals in her debut tournament, becoming only the second woman in the open era to do so. She first entered the WTA's top 20 in 1998, achieving a career-high singles ranking of No. 16.
