Andrei Vasilevskiy Biography

Andrei Andreyevich Vasilevskiy, born on 25 July 1994, is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender who has played in the National Hockey League. He was selected 19th overall in the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Vasilevskiy has been recognized as the league's top goaltender by winning the Vezina Trophy in the 2018–19 and 2025–26 seasons. He was also nominated for the Vezina Trophy during the 2017–18 season. On 15 December, he received the CCM/AHL Player of the Week honor during his developmental season. He recorded a 29-save shutout against the Springfield Falcons, ending their franchise-record 11-game winning streak. His first playoff victory occurred on 6 June, when he entered the game in relief during the Cup Final against the Chicago Blackhawks and secured the win.
