Anderson da Silva, born on 14 April 1975, is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and professional boxer. He held the UFC Middleweight Championship and unified it with the Pride World Welterweight title, recording the longest title reign in UFC history at 2,457 days. His championship tenure began in 2006 and concluded in 2013, including a record of 16 consecutive wins during that period. Silva made his professional debut in 1997, winning his first two fights. He defeated Sakurai by unanimous decision after three rounds, claiming the Shooto Middleweight Championship and becoming the first fighter to beat Sakurai, who had remained undefeated in his first 20 bouts. In 2002, Silva was set to face then-UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes at UFC 36. On 27 June 2004, Silva secured a decision victory over Jeremy Horn.
