Alvin Kamara Biography

Alvin Kamara, born on July 25, 1995, is an American professional football running back who has played in the National Football League. He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers after transferring from Hutchinson Community College and was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. Kamara received the NFL Rookie of the Year award in 2017 and has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first five seasons with the league. In 2020, he became the second player in NFL history to record six rushing touchdowns and 36 points in a single game. Kamara played high school football for the Blue Devils at his hometown school. As a senior in 2012, he rushed for 2,264 yards and 26 touchdowns, and also caught 22 passes for 286 yards and five touchdowns during his final season. He was honored as Georgia’s Mr. Football and named the state’s all-classification player of the year by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, earning first-team All-State recognition from the Georgia Sports Writers Association.
