Alphonso Davies Biography

Alphonso Davies, born on November 2, 2000, is a professional soccer player who has played as a left-back, winger, or wing-back for Bayern Munich and has served as captain of the Canada national team. Davies has been recognized as one of the top left-backs globally, earning the nickname 'the Roadrunner' due to his speed, dribbling skill, and creativity on the field. He moved to Bayern Munich in January 2019 from Vancouver Whitecaps FC, signing a contract that initially extended to 2023, and later renewed with a new agreement through June 2030. His debut season with Bayern earned him the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award for 2019–20. Davies was selected as a finalist for the 2020 Golden Boy award in recognition of his performances during that period. He represented Canada in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he scored the nation’s first goal in a men’s World Cup tournament. Davies made his professional debut for Whitecaps FC 2 at 15 years and 5 months old in April 2016.
