Alex Morgan Biography

Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, born July 2, 1989, is an American former professional soccer player who has represented the United States in international competition. She has competed in four FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments, winning the title in 2015 and 2019, and finishing as runner-up in 2011. Morgan earned a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with the U.S. team, recording 28 goals and 21 assists in a single year. She was selected first overall in the 2011 Women's Professional Soccer Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan helped the Thorns win the 2013 league championship before being traded to the Orlando Pride. While playing for San Diego Wave FC in 2022, Morgan won the NWSL Golden Boot and helped the team claim the next NWSL Shield. Morgan has been named one of Time's 100 Most Influential People, receiving the honor in both 2019 and 2022.
