Aidan Hutchinson Biography

Aidan Joseph Bernardi Hutchinson, born on August 9, 2000, is an American professional football defensive end who has played for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League. He earned unanimous All-American recognition during his college football career at the University of Michigan and finished as the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 2021. Selected second overall in the 2022 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions, he was named to the All-Rookie Team following his debut season. Hutchinson has been selected to the Pro Bowl in 2023 and 2025, and earned his first All-Pro honor with a second-team selection in 2025. He committed to play college football at the University of Michigan prior to his professional career. As a senior in 2021, he set the Michigan Wolverines’ single-season sack record with 14 sacks. In his second NFL game, he recorded three sacks, establishing a new Lions rookie record against the Washington Commanders.
