Aeneas Williams Biography

Aeneas Williams, born January 29, 1968, played 14 seasons as a cornerback and safety in the NFL. Aeneas Williams played college football for the Southern Jaguars and was drafted by the Phoenix Cardinals in the third round of the 1991 NFL draft, spending a decade with the team. Williams earned eight Pro Bowl selections and three first-team All-Pro honors, and was named to the second NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. He kept his football participation secret from his family until he made the travel squad for the second game of the season. In the season prior to his draft year, he was named to the All-Southwestern Athletic Conference team after leading the conference with seven interceptions. In 1990, he remained with the Southern Jaguars as a graduate student and fifth year senior to improve his draft status. On September 1 1991 Aeneas Williams started at cornerback for the Phoenix Cardinals against the Los Angeles Rams recording three solo tackles and an interception on a pass from Jim Everett in a 24–14 win.
